-A woman called with questions about how many cats she can own. According to Bozeman City Ordinance, two cats may be kept at a home.

-A man entered a store and walked out with a basket of food. When the man was located, he admitted to taking the food.

-A backcountry rescue was performed on Saddle Peak after a skier got “in trouble on cliffs.”

- A caller reported seeing a vehicle driving westbound on West Garfield Street with a hand sticking out of the trunk. A Montana Highway Patrol officer said he’d seen the same vehicle with a rubber arm hanging out of it last week.

- A sleepy-sounding man told a dispatcher that he had rolled over onto his phone in his sleep and inadvertently dialed 911. There was no emergency.

- A man reported that his neighbor near Longbow Lane appeared to have a wild bird chained to the back porch, “possibly a wild hawk.”

- A caller reported that three people were cutting wood and rolling it down the hill around 2 p.m., in Hyalite Canyon. The caller did not know whether the activity was legal or not.

- A woman said a dog owner on the Linear Trail told her to “chill out” when she asked her to put her dog on a leash.

- A driver said a man was “flailing his arms at people” at the intersection of North 19th Avenue and West Main Street around 2 p.m. Police did not find the man doing anything wrong.

- A caller wanted police to check to see if a friend of hers was drinking.

- The buyer of a used truck called the private seller and threatened him because he was upset after the seller took the license plates off the truck at the buyer’s business. The seller had forgotten to remove them before the sale was final.

- Police educated a Main Street store manager about the use of a hold-up alarm after he had pressed it with concerns about a credit check for a purchase. The transaction appeared to be legitimate.

- A man tried to pay for purchases at a store on North Seventh Avenue with a counterfeit $100 bill but paid instead with a credit card. The clerk did not keep the fake bill.

- A caller reported a woman wearing black shorts, a light coat and high-heeled shoes with ankle socks was smoking a cigarette near the corner of North Seventh Avenue and West Mendenhall Street around 9:30 a.m. The caller said she “did not look right.”

- A dispatcher receiving a 911 call heard several people talking about eating ham. When the dispatcher called back, a person said there was no emergency.

- A man playing ball with his dog in Kirk Park was warned after a police officer saw the man neglect to clean up his dog’s poop.

- A man, who thought his truck had been stolen from Black and White Trail, did not realize that his wife had it.

- A caller said he saw a man with orange hair steal a bubble gum machine from JBs. Police identified the suspect and are waiting to see if the machine’s owner wishes to press charges.
